Scuola Nautica Mike has been teaching on Lake Lugano for over 25 years and is the most active and comprehensive school on the lake. It is also the only school on Lake Lugano with an instructor holding a professional certificate and federal diploma in nautical training. Thanks to this expertise and to ongoing professional development, it can offer you training that meets the high standards of the Swiss Association of Motorboat and Sailing Schools (ASSN/VSMS), of which it is a member.
It specialises in courses leading to the inland-waters boat licence for both Sail and Motor, and offers a range of advanced courses such as night navigation, the use of satellite navigation equipment, and more.
We also run the training for the Swiss offshore licence (high-seas certificate), for anyone who wants to sail at sea as well.
We are able to run our courses in Italian, as well as in German, French and English.
The school's operational base is at the mouth of the Cassarate, at the Circolo Velico Lago di Lugano, whose facilities we are able to use.
